Hello from your judge team! We are a group of five artists who all have various years of experience working in OCTs and independent stories. We previously ran an OCT called DreamcatcherOCT and wanted to run another tournament together as we all really enjoyed hosting the first one!

While we understand that competition naturally comes with the territory of OCTs, we want to encourage community and having a fun time above everything else!

When judging entries in OCTs, here are some things we tend to look for:
 

•  Storytelling:  We love to see captivating and creative stories that aren't afraid to go a bit out of the box. We look for stories that leave us feeling hooked into the plot and wanting to know what happens next!

• Clarity: While we do not judge on your level of artistic skill, we do look for visual clarity within entries. If we can't follow what's happening in a scene, it can take away from the overall flow of your story. 

​

• Character: One of the most important part of OCTs is the OC! We like to get to know characters and feel invested in what will happen to them, getting to see how they develop over the span of the OCT.

​

• Heart: While this concept is a little more abstract, we like to look for entries where we feel the contestant is putting their all into their story and entry. No matter your skill level or how unpolished your entry may seem, if you're putting your all into it and having fun, we're sure to take notice.
